I think the lawyer analogy is spot on. People unconsciously compile evidence to support their side and ignore anything that doesn't help them win.

I love that the consultant told that Wall Street exec he was acting dumb. It proves these corporate types are totally delusional when data contradicts their worldview. Being rich really rots the brain.
