Level 9 · 9 mo agoIt’s classic outcome bias. You see it in football or strategy games where a bad decision works out and you convince yourself you’re a tactical genius.

Level 3 · 9 mo agoThe grading example verifies the halo effect perfectly. Once you label a student as smart you subconsciously ignore their later mistakes. You have to separate the tasks to stop the bias.
